The Iowa Wine Trail –“Cuisine Around the World with Iowa Wines”
November Special Weekend Event
November 5 – 6, 2011
10:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. both Saturday and Sunday

Theme: “Cuisine Around the World with Iowa Wines”

The Iowa Wine Trail invites you to “Cuisine Around the World with Iowa Wines.”  The special weekend event will be held on November 5th and 6th between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.  Each winery will serve food samples paired with the excellent Iowa made wines of the Upper Mississippi River Valley Viticulture Areas.  The wineries are gearing up to provide unique and creative “Cuisine Around the World with Iowa Wines” food samples that bring out the best in their individual, unique wine styles.

To fully enjoy the wine trail experience of the Upper Mississippi River Valley Viticulture Areas of Lisbon, Baldwin, Anamosa, Fredericksburg, Bankston, Marquette, West Branch, Decorah, and Clinton, it is best to take two days traversing the trail and visiting all nine wineries.  Arrange now with one of the bed and breakfast partner sites listed on the website at www.iowawinetrail.com.  Ask about any special weekend packages that they may offer.

Purchase three (3) tickets before October 22nd and receive a fourth ticket free (four two-day tickets for $75).  Two-day tickets purchased after October 22, 2011, but before the day of the event will be $25/ticket.  Tickets will be available the day of the event for $35/ticket.  Free designated driver tickets are available for food sampling only.  Tickets can be purchased in the tasting rooms at any of the participating wineries or on line at www.iowawinetrail.com.  Phone orders can be placed through Park Farm Winery at 563-557-3727.

A new benefit for ticketholders during the November wine trail event will be a 10% discount on ALL wine purchases during the Saturday and Sunday event.  This event only discount will be in addition to any quantity discounts normally allowed at each winery.  This is your best opportunity to stock up and save on your favorite Iowa Wine Trail wines for yourself or that special someone on your holiday gift-giving list.  Also, with each purchased ticket you will receive your very own Iowa Wine Trail etched wine glass with a beaded charm attached for use at each winery you visit.

Purchase early as ticket sales will be limited to 350.

The Iowa Wine Trail involves nine wineries - Brick Arch Winery in West Branch will be featuring samples of Swiss beef, Gruyere potatoes, and a chocolate dessert; Sutliff Cider Company near Lisbon; Daly Creek Winery in Anamosa will be featuring Caribbean cuisine highlighted by Jamaican pulled pork; Tabor Home Vineyards and Winery near Baldwin will have French cuisine; Park Farm Winery near Bankston will be using their new wood fire pizza oven for “Pizza of America” samples; Eagles Landing Winery in Marquette will be featuring German cooking; Wide River Winery near Clinton will be presenting French cuisine; Winneshiek Wildberry Winery near Decorah plans to feature Italian samples; and Engelbrecht Family Winery near Fredericksburg will feature Denmark cuisine.  All food samples will be pared with Iowa wines.
